Silent night, holy night; All is calm, all is bright....
Not a creature is stirring, not even a koi
(once water temp hits 50 F, mine hibernate till spring)
Life is good; a function of a peacefully sleeping boy and
peacefully hibernating koi.
Had a bit of a problem this year with over-propagation of the species!
New Year's Resolution: "google" koi birth control!
Those peaceful moments are very precious. Adam reminds me of Royce when he is sleeping soundly - such a beautiful sight. I sometimes wonder if they dream. I love the way Royce's hands are relaxed and flexible instead of clenched and tight.
ReplyDeleteMarcelle, I am sure that the boys have the most peaceful and unworldly dreams imaginable. It is so good to see some relaxation in those tonic bodies...the magic of sleep.
ReplyDeleteI love to watch Cj sleep too. I know they dream, and dream big. Sometimes Cj laughs out loud while dreaming. He did this last night, I love those nights. I just stay awake and wonder what he is dreaming about with a big smile on my face.
ReplyDeleteLisa, I know what you feel...when they sleep peacefully, it's like everything in the world is just perfect!
ReplyDeleteLove both pictures! I have a Koi question though. Do they need the hibernation time? The reason I ask is my father-in-law has Koi and his never seem to do as well as yours.
ReplyDeleteSo Sue, here's the koi answer: Koi will only hibernate when the temp of the water drops below 50 degrees for a period of time. They drop to the bottom and are perfectly still...need a hole in the ice on top if it freezes to exchange gas.
